I recently started getting bounces on my lists for ALL of my subscribers
who use Yahoo.com as their email provider:

Last error: 5.7.9 554 5.7.9 Message not accepted for policy
      reasons. Seehttp://postmaster.yahoo.com/errors/postmaster-28.ht_ml_

When I asked my local Listserv postmaster about this, they sent me back
the reply appended to the bottom. My question is: is EVERYONE who
owns Listserv lists having this problem?

---

Howdy,

On April 8 Yahoo implemented a new policy that blocks messages from
lists not hosted by Yahoo or Google. The idea is to only allow messages
which comply to a certain security standard to prevent phishing scams
and other forms of email abuse. The immediate problem with this policy
is that all universities running Listserv are affected and there is
little we can do about it. Note that all domains hosted by Yahoo are
affected which includes email addresses from ISP's such as Comcast and
AT&T.

The only current solution is to unsubscribe @yahoo addresses from your
lists and send them an email explaining why they are being removed and
prompt them to subscribe with an alternative email address. While this
is not ideal, this is going to be the solution unless Yahoo rolls back
this decision.

I hope that clears up the confusion over what is happening. If you have
any more questions please let us know as we are always glad to help.
Have a great day!
