This worked perfectly for me.    *Immediately* after I sent out a message that I realized I did not
want to reach the list, I placed myself on review.   The message came back to me to "ok" (as
moderator) instead of getting distributed to the list, and I of course discarded it.

This will work if you act immediately, before the message reaches a certain processing point with
Listserv it seems.

Hopefully it will work in your case, having held your list(subsequent halt of the message
processing)
