Chances are that he's either signed up using a variant of the address
that's bouncing (e.g. he might be signed up as [log in to unmask]
instead of [log in to unmask] or vice-versa) or he might be signed up
under an address which is forwarding email to the current address (he
might be signed up from a bigfoot account, to choose just one service
that will forward email).

The basic way to figure out what address he's signed up using
involves using the scan command. Scan looks for a given substring in
your subscribers' email addresses and names.

If you know his name is 'Jacob Haller', for instance, you could issue a

        scan listname haller

command and see which subscriptions have haller as a substring either
in the name field or the email address.

If the bounces are coming from [log in to unmask], you could try issuing:

        scan listname userid
        scan listname some.domain

though you want to be cautious about this; scan listname aol.com is
unlikely to return any useful information since you probably have
many, many subscribers from that domain. Also, note that it's
looking for substrings, so 'scan listname userid' would match not
just [log in to unmask] but also [log in to unmask] or
[log in to unmask]

Scan also accepts wildcards, e.g.

        scan listname j*@*lsoft

would match [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], [log in to unmask], etc.
