I hope I didn't confuse anyone with my database search shorthand.
Just in case:
// Job Echo=No
Database Search DD=Rules
//Rules DD *
s abracadabra in listname 94/04/01 to 94/04/30
i
/*
is identical to
// Job Echo=No
Datatbase Search DD=Rules
//Rules DD *
search abracadabra in listname from 94/04/01 to 94/04/30
index
/*
The "index" means give me a listing of the "hits" but don't print
them (I'm just looking for a specific item which I can identify from
the index of hits).
Then when the print job is sent in the i or index is replaced with
p or print followed by the item number(s) wanted and the entire
message(s) is/are retrieved and sent to me. If more than one item is
wanted it would be, sort of generically:
p 123456 125471 126989
etc.
Hope that clears the water if I muddied it.
