This is not just a technology issue (though the arguments for that could "stand" alone); it is also an *investment* of time in training, conversion, correction of mistakes, increased failures e.g., mail loops, spam, spoof; similarly support by vendors and the vendor's customer (lstown-l, lstsrv-l) community, let alone your own customers' expectation of excellent service. Similarly, it is also a resource utilitzation issue, as well as whether an industrial-strength MLM is important to your organization/mission.
List management is much much more than just [managing] a list of userids and sending an email. Or as the CICnet slogan used to say "Connectivity is more than a Connection."
