In the welcome file for one of my lists, it just says "no
anonymous posting" and I offer to do essentially what you did.
I have only had to do this once, but it was necessitated after
it "became obvious to me" that a government agency in another
country was monitoring the list and had somebody threaten
one of the subscribers.
That was an exception, but I do understand there may be good
reasons for anonymity.
However, as list owner I want to know who is sending a message.
Or at least be reasonably certain.
