The AOL mailer, like many others, will not allow blank subject: lines.  It
forces you to put something there.  LISTSERV ignores the Subject line in
command messages, although some other list management programs do look for
commands to be in the subject line.

So, to keep AOL happy, something must be written on the Subject line, and
the easiest thing to write is only the first command word (PUT, SET,
QUERY, etc).  LISTSERV will ignore this, so the full command line, must be
in the message text, with all necessary parameters, such as passwords,
etc.
