The information on MS IE and Netscape is interesting, but these
features are NOT the same as AFD/FUI

As Peter Rauch pointed out AFD/FUI is passive on the users end once
the subscription is entered. Neither the subscriber nor a program
on his computer ever has to go looking for anything. New material,
with the correct filname filetype, is but in by the FAC and it goes.
No one nor any computer program needs to go scurrying to check whether
there is something new.

And, well, how does IE know whether there is something new? Does it
create it's own records of everything on the web site in question?
Wasteful. Or does it just look for dates? Those can be misleading.

While this is interesting, and possibly of use to some, it is NOT
a replacement for AFD/FUI.
