Some incorrectly generated bounces go to the originator of the
e-mail instead of to the RFC821 field (OWNER-listname@listhost)
which cause subscribers to complain to the owner (this is not
good).

Bouncing e-mail sometimes starts e-mail loops when they are
generated back to the list.

Bouncing e-mail also uses up network bandwidth for all users at
the LISTSERV domain. This could be over a wide-area (slow) link.

The list that generates e-mail to a bouncing user is wasting its
time in the distribution process.

Eventually somebody is going to have to deal with the bounce.
If not now, when?

Think of un-cared-for bounces as meta-SPAM.

With the rights of list-ownership come the (delegated)
responsibilities thereof.
