Running LMail 1.2a and Listserv 1.8a, is there any way to seperate out
local mail deliveries from remote mail deliveries with Listserv?
We running a moderated mailing list which dumps some 35-60K messages
out a day whenever the moderator gets around to doing it and this ties
up the outbound SMTP machine (all Listserv traffic is sent to a seperate
SMTP machine for delivery) for hours. We'd like to create a local list
but, a possible delay of hours is not acceptable for delivery.
We would prefer to deliver all mail local to our domain (uh.edu) from
any list first (either by routing to a seperate SMTP machine or
whatever), just in the interests of serving our local users with the
best service, this would be ideal but, probably not practical. Sending
all mail from a specific list to a specific SMTP machine would fit the
bill quite nicely as well though so that the local-only list would not
end up in the queue behind everything else.
Any ideas on how to resolve this problem would be nice to hear.
Thanks.
