I have replied to Will's message directly (as many of us may have), but
I wanted to take this opportunity to remind everybody that John Fisher's
PDUTIL MODULE was designed for files stored in PC diskette image format
(RECFM=F, LRECL=128, binary/ASCII) and is not useful for encoding the
full range of files which might be offered on LISTSERVs. It should not
be put to more general use until John (or somebody) finds time to make
it more flexible.

This is not intended as a slur on John's ability or intentions. PDUTIL
does what he needed and designed it to do for the /PDDIR and /PDGET
local commands as operated against files stored in the above described
format.
