Ok, I'll ask this a different way.

How does denying source-routing in MAIL FROM: headers IN ANY WAY change
whether or not you receive junk e-mail? All I'm asking you to do is be a
little bit more picky about the filtering you're doing. Is that such a
horrible thing?

These sample people would probably also not notice if you started denying
mail from, say, all of Compuserve. But you would never do that, would you?

I'm reminded of a Prodigy episode. Remember, they were actively filtering
messages for "indencent content". Everyone applauded until the day someone
decided that the word "breast" was indecent, and suddenly there was no
discussion happening in the Forum for supporting sufferrers of Breast Cancer.

I think this is a similar situation. The goals are fine, but the
implementation is slightly suspect. It only requires a small tweak to fix.

Sure, all of us will eventually get around to "fixing" our mailers. But some
of us are running commercial software, and it takes time to get new releases
from vendors...
