I don't know what you mean by "set it to blank", but that probably explains the "Invalid virtual disk slot designation - """ part of the error. What were you trying to accomplish by setting all those values to blank or cleared?

Hi –

Thanks for your response.

These are error messages I get as the list admin. I have sent test posts to a different list on the same server and it was correctly distributed (no errors) but didn’t find its way into the archive.

This is a real, old physical server with real, old physical drives. There are no virtual drives on this machine.

Earlier this week I shut it down so I could move it to a newer server. The move failed (because of the new server) and I restarted the listserv services on this server. It accepts emails and properly distributes them to my test list but they don’t get into the archive for some reason.

The only change I made to this listserv in preparation for the move was to modify the Notebook settings. I changed the interval from weekly to blank, set the access level from private to blank and cleared the where field.

There are hourly messages in the log – each similar to the one I posted.

Thanks,

Bruce

I’m not clear if these were messages to you, or errors reported on messages to another list member. If it was another member, were they all to the same email address.

Have other messages gone through without error? Are these errors in the listserv log? Without further information, my first guess would be a hardware problem, or a virtual server configuration problem on the server hosting listserv. X’65’ is “network unreachable”, so it may mean that a virtual disk is not mounted.

I’ve had three posts (from the same list) rejected today. Each with an error message similar to:

>>> Error X'00000065' during virtual disk slot emulation for "" <<<

-> Severity: Severe error

-> Facility: Generic error codes

-> Abstract: Logic error detected

-> Rejected: Invalid virtual disk slot designation -

              "".

>>> Error X'00000065' logging message to archives <<<

-> Severity: Severe error

-> Facility: Generic error codes

-> Abstract: Logic error detected

Any idea what I should be looking for? As well, things don’t seem to be getting into the archives.

Thanks,

Bruce
