Since it's not a detectable loop (new message id, new content, new
headers), it would be best to craft a content filter once your site has
upgraded to 1.8e. It also makes sense in some contexts to place a limit on
the number of posts an individual can make each day that is somewhat less
than the list as a whole. One reason for posting limits on a list basis is
to prevent a runaway undetected loop. It's just as easy to add a limit per
user that seems reasonable (say 10 per day if most users post no more than
one or two).
