The official  answer is that  you have  to buy LISTSERV-TCP/IP  for that,
since the newnode tag replaces all occurrences of the BITNET address with
the new address at a very low  level within LISTSERV, and the NJE version
can't  cope with  having non-NJE  addresses for  its local  node. Another
possibility is to  make your own copy of BITEARN  NODES without this tag.
It  won't solve  the problem  completely since  other servers  will still
translate incoming addresses, but it will alleviate the problem.
