We are in the dawn of migrating listserv lists from VM to Unix
(listserv 1.8c on Solaris 5.5.1). To make life easier I used a
script to generate all of the list aliases for "/etc/aliases". I thought
I could do this ahead of time; one more thing out of the way.
In spite of what I thought were very clear instructions to all
listowners on VM, mail is starting to come in to the new host for
listserv lists that have not been moved yet; from listowners and
subscribers alike. Of course, mail doesn't bounce because the aliases
are there so this mail stays in "/listserv/spool".
If I delete all the aliases, their mail will bounce, but this
means that I have to add each aliases one at a time as I move
each list. My questions are, has anyone found an easier way?
Is this my lot for the next month or so? Has anyone who has
ever done this gotten a nice big promotion/raise after? ;-)
Thanks for any LSVights.
