Thanks, Pete.  It seems simple enough now that you've pointed out the
correct syntax.  It also didn't occur to me that subscribers could access
the 'Execute a LISTSERV Command' page of the web interface but it makes
sense since there's no links to any of the admin pages.

Yup.  I run a Win2K server so the URL would look like:

http://lists.psu.edu/cgi-bin/WA.EXE?LCMD1=CONFIRM+l-nittany

In a Windows environment you have to explicitly call upon the executable.
