The Revised LISTSERV Distribution List <LSTSRV-L@EB0UB011>
As most of you probably know, NODMGT-L@BITNIC is going to go to using
Mail-Via = Distribute next week. In a private exchange of notes, Judith
Molka indicated that this is seen as an alternative to using peers.

Eric, do you have any thoughts on how the use of Mail-Via= Distribute
and peers should relate? If we all start using Mail-Via= Distribute
for our lists, should we stop using peers? I'm not sure if it matters
in terms of network load- if any server that would be a peer will also
distribute, I can't see how using peers can be more efficient than just
using Mail-Via= Distribute, although I'm not sure how great the savings
will be.

I realize Mail-Via= Distribute is not fully implemented yet; I am
anticipating what I think it will be, not reflecting on results I have
seen.

Nick
