I disagree list subcribers are still heavily involved in computers in
general (programmers, MIS, tech dep, IT crew, support specialist, etc
...)

And our list pushed a system programmer at U Conn to start CTBLUS-L for
a more "geographically refined" version of the worldwide BLUES-L ... He
had the choice between "hack-your-list-away" from his personal ISP or
the U Conn LISTSERV ... Incidently, he now wants Brown U ((where the
list is hosted)) to upgrade to 1.8c :-) (My list is still under 1.8b)
...

As per the "marketing impact" of such a move and creating precedents for
other lists (It could be a "standard policy" from L-Soft to give a hand
to LISTSERV lists wanting to organize RL events and T-Shirt/ Sweatshirt/
Jackets or other memorabilia ... ). I would let the marketing people at
L-Soft decide if such a "caring beyond duty" image is good for a
software company ;-) ... If they help us with our T-Shirts, man, I'd
even let any L-Soft employee on this list take crerdit for the idea :-))

C U !
