Actually, the "missing" From is totally correct and proper.  See RFC821 and
1123.

BZZT! Wrong answer, thank you for playing.

The entire reason that it gets sent with 'MAIL FROM:<>' is so that the
system knows that an NDR should *NOT* be generated or sent if/when there
is a problem.  This is so automated processes don't get into a bounce-message
loop.

If your system is dropping it in the "bad mail" area rather than simply
discarding it as the standards require, your system is misconfigured.
