Well, I actually wrote Stu's postmaster and asked him/her (politely) to
fix the problem and said what I would do if he/she didn't.  I expressed
a desire not to adversely affect other users and asked for cooperation.
 
I don't think that way of dealing with the problem is excessively hostile.
