I am hoping to start a mailing list for dollmakers. Possible topics of
conversation would include original sculpting for dolls, cloth
dolls, porcelain dolls, antique reproductions, costuming, doll shows, and
ways to sell dolls. I would expect the list to be about 20 to 50 members
for the forseeable future. I'm not sure what to estimate for messages
per day -- it will be a small list but I suspect a chatty one. Maybe
10 to 25 messages a day? Right now, there are no places on
the internet to talk about making dolls. Some discussion shows up on
rec.arts.puppetry, rec.collecting.dolls, rec.crafts.misc, and
rec.crafts.polymer-clay, but none of these groups really fit our needs.
I don't see enough demand at this point for a newsgroup group, but that
may change in a year or so because this is a fast growing hobby.
I would appreciate it very much if someone would be interested in
sponsoring this mailing list. I've been following this list through the
bit.listserv newsgroup, but since netcom's news can be a little flaky I
would appreciate email as well.
