Well, the  general answer  would be  that, at some  point, you  have been
licensed to get 1.8a. In your  case, you've done the paperwork to receive
the CREN-paid service until July 1. You  can keep using 1.8a after July 1
under the same conditions as 1.7f, ie  until you leave BITNET, but to get
new  versions   you  will  need   to  renew  your   maintenance.  Contact
