Any time you run a network server on a desktop machine
you need to be hyper-aware of the industrial strength
characteristics of your platform.
It makes no sense to run a server if the server is
not availabile because it frequently crashes, is
unavailable other than local prime time, has sizing
issues, does not mean audit and security requirements,
etc.
/Pete Weiss at Penn State, who co-operates several lists
that have lots of userids whose e-mail systems bounce
on weekends, after 5 pm., holidays, or sometimes the
phase of the moon (or is it sun spots?)
