Yes.  I'm talking, of course, about usenet distribution of postings
sent directly to usenet.  Those sent by mail won't show up on usenet
until they've been distributed as list mail and gone through the usenet
gateway.

I subscribe by mail to the lists I'm especially interested in and
read ones I'm less interested in on usenet.  I prefer that system
because I'm in the habit of checking e-mail many times a day but
sometimes go several days without looking at usenet.  Probably I
would read even more lists on usenet instead of subscribing if I
didn't use a filter program on my incoming mail.  I have it set now
so that almost no list mail shows up in my regular mail space.  That
means that if I log on for just a few minutes, I can read direct mail
quickly without having to hunt for it in the midst of list mail.  I
have my list mail filtered into separate files.
