The Unix vacation program doesn't reply to list mail.  I've used it off
and on all summer and so far haven't seen it fail.  I think the header
it uses is the "to" line.  It will not, for example, send a reply to
mail that comes "to multiple recipients of x list."  You can, of course,
change that default setting if for some reason you want it to reply to
such mail.
