I noticed that my Unix server's mail.log file has lots of
strange errors in it. The errors are along the lines of:
Sep 30 10:02:01 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[13618]: Unable to deliver mail to: OWENS,
Sep 30 10:02:01 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[13618]: **Error** Syntax is, lsv_amin spool-directory to-user
Sep 30 10:02:14 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[13707]: Unable to deliver mail to: mcchan
Sep 30 10:02:14 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[13707]: **Error** Syntax is, lsv_amin spool-directory to-user
Sep 30 10:11:24 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[23235]: Unable to deliver mail to: mcchan
Sep 30 10:11:24 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[23235]: **Error** Syntax is, lsv_amin spool-directory to-user
Sep 30 10:12:39 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[25148]: Unable to deliver mail to: Thomas
Sep 30 10:12:39 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[25148]: **Error** Syntax is, lsv_amin spool-directory to-user
Sep 30 10:12:39 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[25152]: Unable to deliver mail to: Thomas
Sep 30 10:12:39 cronkite LSV:lsv_amin[25152]: **Error** Syntax is, lsv_amin spool-directory to-user
What's strange is that there is no list called "mcchan" or "Thomas" and I
got back nothing useful when I did a "query * for mcchan" either. If any
one has any idea what's going on, please let me know.
This is on Listserv 1.8d hosted on a Tru64 Unix system with qmail as the MTA.
