I happen to be a subscriber as well as an owner. My experience has been that sending as owner means I don’t receive the mail as a subscriber. The only time I see the message is when it is sent to me for approval to send. I’ve taken to subscribing another mailbox I monitor just so I can see the distribution. Yeah, I should by now that it works just fine. Sometimes, though, there is just a little shadow of doubt.

It is my understanding that though list-owners are not list members, they are privileged and can post to their own lists w/o subscription.  That doesn't mean that they will received distibutions.
