I would strongly suggest that you simply put a hold on the
entire project until you get a DNS entry.  There are simply
too many places where you will encounter strange and unusual
problems due to DNS problems.  You *may* be able to get
the WWW interface to come up, but you can pretty much forget
about getting any outbound mail to work.

Hint:  If you don't have a DNS entry, how do you post to a list?
You can't say 'mail [log in to unmask] because you'll just
get back 'host your.domain.here not found'.

(Yes, this *CAN* be hacked around using the [] IP address literal
syntax, but THAT has its own baggage to deal with, and is not recommende)
