I presume you already got a hand, but just in case:

This is a listserv list so the way to get on or off is to send
the right message (in the body, not the Subject:) of email to
LISTSERV (notice no E, only 8 characters) at the same site as
the mailing list address.

To get on a list, use:

SUBSCRIBE list-name Your Own Name

Example:

subscribe sorehand Alex Pashensky

To get off a listserv list, use:

SIGNOFF list-name

Example:

signoff sorehand

Watch out! Since listserv gets your address from the email
envelope, you MUST signoff from THE SAME ACCOUNT that you used
when you subscribed.

If you still can't get on or off the list, try sending the
listserv the following request in the body of a new email:

REVIEW listname (SHORT

Example:

review sorehand (short

If things are working right, you should quickly get a parcel
of information including the address of the list owner who
has magical powers over the list.

For further information about listserv operation, send:

HELP

to the listserve, in the body of a new email message.
