Is it ok to edit the LOG files of a list directly (Listserv 1.8c running
on Solaris)?

I have a user who wants a single post removed from a LOG file. It
would be easiest for me to just delete those lines, but I have this
sneaking suspicion that I'll mess up the listname.html file (the archives
are viewable via the web) and an index file (if one exists).
