I am pretty sure this bug has been fixed in 14.3. At least, I remember
fixing a bug with the exact same symptoms. Without full details and
substantial work, it is impossible to say for sure that this is the same
bug, but you could try posting one of the "evil" messages to a test 14.4
server.
