I have not had any trouble with the current behavior.  I have not noticed any unusual mass subscribe attempts to the lists shown on our archive page.  On the other hand, I often see mass subscribe attempts for our lists that are confidential= no.  So my guess is that the bad guys have not started trying to harvest lists on the archives pages.
