obsessing about it . . .

Well, it's not a major problem . . . especially since only one
of maybe 25 or so OoO messages generated by the list last month
actually got back _to_ the list. Most seem either to be sent
only to the original sender or to me as listowner (or maybe
both; I'm not clear about that).  I'm interested here just in
minimizing the number of them that get sent to individual
posters: if you post to a list and get a dozen or so notices
back saying that so and so isn't reading your mail it's an
annoyance, and I have subscribers -- mostly folks who can't get
used to deleting email unread -- who are pretty annoyed by it.

And actually, it seems pretty clear the content-filter on 1.8e
wouldn't actually deal with that, since the reply doesn't go to
the list.
