After some tap-dancing with /etc/inittab, MH, dd, and a number of other
utilities, I finally extracted the lb64 format file as sent from
listserv@vtvm1 to listserv.vt.edu. As it turns out, the %.bitnet
hacking was apparently done after listserv.vt.edu processed it,
as until then, all the headers as listed below were hidden inside a
lb64 file, and thus not visible to lmail, smpt, or the inbound sendmail.
After looking at this, it appears that 'List-address = FQDN' will solve
the problem, and preliminary tests confirm this...
